Coverage — which states, which windows, what is NOT included

Data as of 2026-09-05. Republishes new-business registrations from FOUR states' own official open-data registries (CO, CT, NY, OR) for the window each state publishes — NOT a national register, not an official formation statistic, and never a list of people.

Not included

• Any state other than those listed — 46 states are NOT covered.
• Owner, officer, member, registered-agent or filer names — never fetched by the upstream feed (entity-level only).
• Trade names that look like a bare personal name (OR) — excluded and counted, never stored.
• NY filings that are not new-entity formations (biennial statements, amendments, dissolutions, assumed names).
• Registrations outside each state's covered window (CO/CT/NY: trailing 28 days; OR: latest published month).
• Any count of 'new businesses' beyond the records listed — record counts are counts of THIS feed's records, not a state's total formation statistics.

States attempted and excluded (with evidence, never guessed)

• HI — Socrata discovery API returns 404 for opendata.hawaii.gov catalog queries (probed live 2026-09-05, probe/bodies has the failing calls logged in probe output); no verified keyless endpoint, so excluded rather than guessed.
• VT — data.vermont.gov catalog searched live 2026-09-05 for business registrations: no business-registry dataset exists on the portal (probe/bodies/catalog_data.vermont.gov.json, catalog2_).
• WA — No FREE bulk source found (probed live 2026-09-05). data.wa.gov's catalog search for business registrations returns licensing/contractor/liquor datasets but no SoS corporations register (probe/bodies/catalog_data.wa.gov.json); sos.wa.gov's corporations-data page 404s; ccfs.sos.wa.gov is the search UI (bulk data subscriptions there are account-gated, not free-bulk). Excluded under the free-bulk-only V1 rule.

Every other state: not attempted in this version. The upstream feed admits only states publishing free, bulk, machine-readable registration data with a registration date from an official portal.
